Begin to play the flute with fun activities that enhance musical skills. For children ages 4 and up. Enjoy relay races, listening activities, parachute games and more.
Flutes will be provided to use in the intro class and are available for purchase later. Class size is limited - sign up by calling (717) 691-9100 or email molly@theperfect5th.com

The Concept

Give your young child the gift of Kinderflute™ classes and lessons!

Learning to play flute well at an early age is indeed possible and can be a very rewarding experience.

Children as young as four can begin their musical journey with flute instructor Molly Shortridge. Kinderflute™ Academy is a weekly group class that meets for 10-15 sessions and is designed for children ages 4-9. The classes employ a range of fun movement activities that develop musicianship and promote understanding of flute playing basics. Children learn on flutes with curved headjoints which are easier to handle then traditional flutes and are designed for small hands. Weekly private lessons are also a requirement of the program so that the instructor can focus on the students' individual needs. We also offer educational events for seasoned students to learn from well known musicians in our artist clinics and master classes.
